Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Fanbaze ("Fanbaze", "we", "us"). They apply to the Fanbaze website at fanbaze.com, the Fanbaze mobile app for iOS and Android, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By playing a game, creating an account or otherwise using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

If you download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply to that download and to any purchase you make through them.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age at which you can enter into a contract where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements and that you are not barred from using it under any applicable law.

You can play today's games on the website without an account. When you do, we create a guest account so your results are saved. Guest results are kept for you and become part of your account if you sign up later. Guests can play and read; posting, commenting, reacting and following require a registered account.

• One account per person. Do not create additional accounts to gain extra attempts, points or leaderboard positions.
• Keep your login details private. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
• Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
• Your display name must not impersonate another person, team, league or organisation, and must not be offensive. We may ask you to change a name that breaks these rules.
• Do not transfer, sell or share your account with anyone else.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your results, posts and leaderboard entries.

Fanbaze is built around one fair Ranked attempt per game per day. Everyone gets the same puzzle, and scores are calculated on our servers. To keep it fair, you agree not to:

• Use bots, scripts, browser extensions or any automation to play or submit answers.
• Look up answers, share answers or spoilers before the daily puzzle has ended, or coordinate with others to gain an advantage.
• Interfere with scoring, timers, streaks, leaderboards or the systems that run them, or send requests to our servers other than through the Service itself.
• Exploit bugs. If you find one, please report it to us instead of using it.

Rank Points, streaks, ranks and leaderboard positions have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged. We may recalculate, adjust or remove points and leaderboard entries where we reasonably believe they were obtained unfairly, and we may change how games are scored as the Service develops.

The feed, team pages, comments and fan profiles are shared spaces. When you post there you agree not to publish anything that:

• Harasses, threatens, bullies or demeans another person, or attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any similar characteristic.
• Is sexually explicit, glorifies violence, or promotes self-harm, dangerous activities or illegal behaviour.
• Reveals private information about someone else, such as their address, phone number or identity documents.
• Impersonates a person, club, league, journalist or official account, or misrepresents who you are.
• Is spam, a scam, unwanted advertising, a pyramid scheme or a link to malware.
• Infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, including reposting content you do not have permission to use.
• Breaks any law or encourages others to.

You can report content or a user from any post, comment or profile, and you can block users you do not want to hear from. Reports are reviewed by our moderators, with automated tools helping to sort the queue. Depending on the severity we may hide content, suspend posting for a period, rename or restrict an account, or close it. Serious or repeated breaches lead to a permanent ban. We may also remove content that we consider harmful to the community even if it is not listed above.

You own what you post. So that we can run the Service, you grant Fanbaze a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for example to fit different screens) and distribute your posts, comments, display name and avatar within the Service and in previews of it, such as link previews and share images. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been shared by others or where we must keep it to comply with the law or enforce these Terms.

You confirm that you have the rights to everything you post and that it does not break the community rules above. Result posts created automatically from your game results are treated as your content; you can turn on a prompt in Settings if you want to approve each one first.

The games, puzzles, questions, artwork, software, logo, name and design of the Service belong to Fanbaze or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial enjoyment only. You may not copy, scrape, resell, redistribute or build derivative products from our puzzles or data, or use the Fanbaze name and logo without our written permission. Sharing your own results and the share images the Service generates is always fine.

Fanbaze is an independent fan product. Team names, league names, player names and statistics are used for identification and informational purposes only. Fanbaze is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any league, club, player, players' association or broadcaster, and their trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Today's games and a catch-up window are free. Registered members on the website currently receive the full archive at no charge. The mobile app may offer paid Sport Passes, an All Sports pass and a one-time Remove Ads purchase. Where they are offered:

• Prices, billing periods, free trials and what each purchase unlocks are shown before you buy.
• Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. They handle your payment; we never see your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
• A free trial converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Contact us if you need help with a refund request.
• Purchases can be restored on a new device from Settings using the same store account.

The free tier of the mobile app may show ads. Passes and the Remove Ads purchase remove them as described at the point of purchase. We may change prices or what is included in a pass, and will give you notice before a change affects a subscription you already have.

We work hard to keep the Service running every day, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove games, features, leagues and content at any time, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. Puzzles are released on a daily schedule that may differ from your local midnight.

We may suspend or close your account, remove your content or restrict your access if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used to harm the Service or other users. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Your content, Fanbaze content, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability and Governing law) continue to apply after termination.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the Service, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that puzzle answers, statistics and records will always be accurate. Sports data comes from third-party sources and, while we verify what we can, mistakes can happen. If you spot one, tell us at support@fanbaze.com and we will fix it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fanbaze and its owners, staff and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, points, streaks, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or consumer rights that apply where you live.

You agree to compensate Fanbaze for any claims, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) that arise from content you post, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service, to the extent permitted by the law where you live.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Fanbaze is established, without regard to conflict of law rules, and disputes will be heard by the courts there. If you are a consumer, you keep any protection given by the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.

Before starting any formal claim, please contact us at support@fanbaze.com. Most problems can be sorted out quickly and informally.

• These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Fanbaze about the Service.
• If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
• You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor of the Service, and will tell you if we do.
• Notices from us will be sent to the email on your account or shown in the Service.

We may update these Terms as the Service grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will give you notice in the app, on the website or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the Service and delete your account.
